Oct 19, 2022 · This is very cool, I've been looking at more information on B58 swaps because the N55 in my 435 isn't doing particularly great.. when it blows I really want to swap a B58 because I dislike the N55. I also saw someone with a 2015 320xi pre-lci manage to have a B58 swapped into his F30. The B58 is the successor to the N54 and N55 engines, both of which were highly tune-able and able to make lots of horsepower with only a handful of supporting mods.The N54 takes the cake in regards to horsepower capabilities, but it had many engine problems as a result. I would say buy the post 2015 n20 and have your PWG turbo installed on the EWG motor. Also whatever electronics/sensors that may be different from your 2012 motor moved over to the new motor. That way you're only paying the mechanic to mess with mechanical stuff, no wiring and electronics to mess with.
